Default Civic 98 DX Question

Hey I just bought a 98 red Civic DX and I have realized that it has an antenna by the front driver side door. I have only seen this on DX models... Is this only on DX models or certain years of civics?

I really don't want it on there so is there a way to take it off.. Obviously I lose the am/fm radio signal, but I have a cd player.

I have searched ebay for this block off plate but have found nothing... Also could you explain how this plate works and what models have the antenna?

Thanks for the help man.

if the car didnt have a radio it has a block off plate instead of the antenna plate. Find a wrecked car that had no radio or try the dealer.

The car has a radio/am/fm cassette. All I want to do is not have the damn antenna sticking out all the time. Where is the antenna on civics that don't have this?? Because to my knowledge no civics have a real power antenna stock do they?

Well I think it stays out... I bought the car and realized it later. I put the deposit on it tonight and I pick it up tomorrow. It has roll down windows so no power locks or anything so I believe the antenna stays that way. I want to know what I do to hide it or what others do? I never see antennas on Civics. Atleast permanent ones.

my dx has a permanently fixed one. I thought that i was supposed to pull in and th motor was just broken or something but i don't think that's it. maybe the ex, lx, or si models have ones that pull in automatically

The antenna will push in and out manually..
I wish the only gripe I had about my car was about the antenna

uhh no, all Civics have the same antennas at the same location (if that model had an antenna to begin with). They are all manually adjusted by simply pushing it in, or pulling it out - very simple sir! No 'electric' antennas here. When you get the car, try to "push" the antenna back into its pillar, and if its stuck, unscrew the plate and try again. The block-off plate looks the same as when you have the antenna pushed in all the way, except for the tiny little ball at the end of the antenna.

Whats all the fuss about?

Remove your A pillar and pull it through from the inside.
