Radio reception sucks! Help.
When I purchased my 93 DX a year ago it was equipped with a semi-cheezy aftermarket tape deck and the radio reception was "ok". After getting a fairly nice CD player (Kenwood) I've noticed my reception sucks! Are there any simple tricks/fixes to improve reception other than confining my driving to within two square blocks of the radio station?
The antenna is only deployed about 6 inches. I've tried the antenna all the way up (looks like poo!) and the reception improves only minimally.

Many local channels sound fine, but the two I listen to most are "iffy" at best. What bugs me is that my CRX had much better reception than my hatchie and was 7 yrs older!
I didn't want to do that. The antenna is one of the few things that I am concerned with aesthetics. I'm not about show. I'm more of a go person, but a three-foot antenna whippin' in the wind is something I just can't handle! Looks like poo!
