check out my valves(b16a3)
is that how they supposed to look or is this something that should be taken care of asap?
engine has about 160k on it but i dont know anything about prior owner's use or abuse.
they are in order from the PS pump #1 if i remember correctly
sorry pictures are the best i could tke with a cell phone.

bad rings?
the car feels good no power loss and no smoke in the morning cold startups. just the white condensation vapors
zero coolant leaks
but oil does disappear somewhere, although i vtaaaaak!!!!! quite often.
can it be bad valve seals?

yea thats not good at all, im rebuilding a toyota motor that the valves looked like that, your valve stem seals are probably letting oil through. this toyota im doing, it burned a crap ton of oil but u never saw any smoke in the exhaust, its bc the cat cleans it up so it cud b burning oil but the cat cleans it so u dont see any smoke, but thats jus my opinion

if anyone noticed cyll 3 and 4 has much more deposits. could it be because of the 4-1 header used previously?
on a side note: when i looked at the cam lobes they still have factory cross pattern on them unless he replaced them.
he had the kamikaze header on it that was leaking around cyl 3 and 4 also
