check engine light
I have an '97 honda civic ex and I recently installed a hi flow cat. After installing the cat and the 02 sensor with it, my check engine light came on. So I had my local auto shop hook my car up to the scanner and it read that my 02 sensor in the front bank in the exhaust manifold was causing it. I ordered a new 02 sensor and installed it, having the auto shop clear the code. Right after they cleared it came back on reading the same code. The shop has no idea what is going on with it. Do you guys have any ideas what it could be or how can I get rid of my check engine light?

with the hi flow cat the sensor is thinking your cat is bad and throwing that code. It normally is low catalsty i believe.
Did you touch the sensor at all

the primary O2 sensor? I've heard of highflow cats causing the secondary O2 sensor to throw a code, thinks the cat is bad. do you know which code exactly?

Re: (Walterronny)
Would I wire the mil eliminator to the 02 sensor by the exhaust manifold, where the scanner says I have a problem or wire it down by the hi flow cat? Is there a good brand out there that I can trust for a mil eliminator, since you have seen some that don't work?

Re: check engine light (ccjustin)
the code that came up was P0135 bank one, but I just replaced that 02 sensor. Is there anything else I can do to get rid of the chek engine light?

U won't get it because the 02 will think the cat's bad, and if u buy a mil thinggy, you'll run rich so ur car'll run like ****, idle funny, probably even a nother CEL under the "too rich" code, I would just throw the reg. cat in there for now, it's going to cause more problems than it's going to help u...
