Check engine light
I recently Put my DC JDM 4 into 1 header and carsound high flow cat. I had taken both items off about a year and half ago and put the stock ones back one to pass smog.
My problem now is that after a certain time the check engine light comes on. Its usually about 2 weeks after running it. The car runs great even when the light comes on. I didnt pull the code like I should have. I just unpluged and plug the battery. I know I should have gotten the code and I would be asking this dumb question.
So do you guys think its a bad cat?? Or something else?

Re: Check engine light (Dodger2940)
Ok so it happened again and the code is:
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold. Does this mean bad cat? OR not installed right?

Right. Check the wiring, clean the plug, throw some dielectric grease on it and go from there.
(You didnt hurt the sensor?)
Cats shouldnt go bad for over 100k miles - and since you just put yours back on recently, Im guessing it isnt that high.
