Changing to a NON airbag wheel and INSURANCE
OK guys and girls, what do you do? I have a Spoon steering wheel and want to put it on but I am concerned about my insurance w/ Geico. Currently I have airbags on both sides of the car. What have you all done re: this issue? Do you tell them, not tell them and hope you're not involved in an accident, etc? My ride is a daily driver, and I am not loaded w/ money to cover such a disaster. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
BTW: Anyone have a CTR wheel FS??

It may be illegal, but I just called my ins. co and they will maintain coverage as long as I provide them with documentation of the change.

Hopefully you didn't tell them your name. New steering wheels usually = racing. Racing = higher premiums. They say they won't do it, but they just want you to cross that line and they'll hike up your rates (documentation = crossing the line).

I'd say make the change but don't tell them, simple as that. You're not going to get a traffic violation for changing from airbag to non, I mean who cares if it's illegal?

Illegal ??!! So is my JDM 4-1 header, my Spoon cat-jack, window tint,etc...

Everything is ******* Illegal man I'm tired of dumb *** laws like, Too loud exhaust, No cat = Pollution, $-1 headers, Sound Pollution, Car too low, DArk Tint and all that stupid dumb **** government creates when they're bored.

my understanding is that if your bag gets stolen or vandalized, it is up to you if you want to replace it or not. If you say I cant afford replacing my airbag, its not like they can force you
