Changine headgasket, any advice is appreciated!
I am going to change my headgasket first time I've ever done it. Any advice? I have a d16z6 and I am going to use the y8 gasket so I might get a small power bump. Do you guys recommed using head gasket cement? What kind do you use. Thanks
How long should this take BTW is one day enough? Keep in mind I swapped my engine all by my lonesome and am rather good with my tools

makes sure ALLL the coolant is drained, make sure that you know when the TDC for the cam/crank is, and make sure you torque the head bolts down to spec and in order. it should only take 2-3 hours.

Use a generous amount of Copper gasket spray for tiny imperfections in gasket/engine. Should only take a couple hours, if that if you're quick. Change the timing belt/H2O pump also since you're in there. You could mark the timing belt as to where it is in relation to each sprocket for easier installation. Ummm, follow the Helms as stated above/torque to SPECS! Oh, pull the head WITH the intake manifold.
