Make sure you have torqe wrench and make sure you have some one who knows how to do timing cause thats something I wouldn't want to be practicing by myself for the first time. Also when you take the old gasket off make sure the whole thing is off and scrape off any little peices that are left on the head.
Good luck kid.

go to pepboys and snag a can of copper gasket spray, won't save a warped head, but can't hurt. give the gasket about 2 coats on both sides. scrape the copper spray off the little tab on the distributor side (it stays clean so you can tell if theres a leak) use the appropriate torque specs and you shouldbe good to go.
the gasket will take a hundered or so miles to seat completely (no excuse for leaks though)
as for the virginity, just get out there and meet new people. you'll find that special someone and when the time is right you'll nkow it...lol

why are you replacing the head gasket.
To insure a perfect seal, you should mill your head and deck your block, and make sure you get a new head gasket.

Ok i got the headgasket installed today.....it took me about 8 hours. before you say damn that was a long time take into account i had my 2 and 4 year old daughters as my helpers, and i had to take the head off again because when i torqued everything down i realized that my clutch cable was stuck between the bottom of my intake manifold and the rear bracket that you bolt the manifold to that goes to the long block. I also hooked up a guage pillar in my car with oil temp and oil pressure guages...i'll post pics tomorrow of the install....if im up to it i'll post it as a how to... its not as bad as alot of people make it as long as you take your time...
