I live in michigan - one of the crappiest places for weather and road maint.
My cf hood holds up just fine with regular waxing and use of a clay bar.

As long as you, in Fl, keep up on UV protectant wax and keeping it clean, you will be more than fine.

You can always paint it...its on my to do list

Yeah, if you find you're unsatisfied with how the CF is holding up, you can always prep it like any other car part and paint it.

i usually wax mine whenever i wash the car.. which is like every 2 weeks not sure if thats good or not
