clear coat for cf hood?
i wanna get a cf hood i picked up for free reclearcloated? in in the ft collins surrounding area...well techniquelly cheyenne...but i can do the ft collins/denver area...any idea...or yea??

Clean it with peanut butter. Then clean it with rubbing alcohol.
THEN, buy some clearcoat at autozone/kragens/O'reiley's and clearcoat it yourself. Spray two medium coats, and 1 heavy coat. In 3 days hit it with some rubbing compound.
Ta-da, I just saved you $300

For $120, i'd Do it.
most places will charge 200-300 for clearcoating a Cf hood.
But $120 sounds reasonable enough to me. Though after painting/clearing some parts on my car, i'd still rather cave my money and clear it myself.
No sanding even needed.

let us know. when i get my hatch repainted. i can get my vis cf hood painted to, but the painter suggested to keep the cf look, he'll sand it and reclear it the same price i am payin for the whole car painted.

yea...whats the difference with that? they have some good work coming out of there shop...they mainly do hotrods, and street machines...but the few people have been happy with the outcome of some cf hoods
