CEL question
I have a 1998 Honda Civic LX. Not sure what the engine # is, but it's the SOHC 1.6L.
Anyway, my check engine light has been on for quite awhile. I pulled the fuse under the hood to reset the light, but then the car stalled when I came to a stop. A few hours later the CEL came back on, and it idled just fine, around 500-750 rpms.
I'm wondering if this could be a faulty o2 sensor. I still get great gas mileage and the car doesn't leak or smoke any fluids whatsoever.
My mom (who owned the car before me) stated that the cat converter was removed for some reason or another, yet the exhaust is whisper quiet.. I figured if the cat conv was removed, the exhaust would be louder.
I know from reading other posts that a CEL light on could be caused by many different things. Just wondering if someone on here had any idea why my car would stall when the CEL light was reset, or if that would be an indication of something someone would know about..
thanks

Re: CEL question
Yeah since the car is OBDII (1998) you take it to autozone or any place with a code reader and it will tell your problem. You can't guess when you car will tell you...
