Default CEL Light question

My cel light would come on periodically but when I turn off the engine and turn the car back to the on position without starting the car, the cel light would dissapear. Any ideas why I am not able to pull the cel code? This is for a 92 civic dx hatch with b18c1.

im pretty sure all cars do this, wen u just turn the key to the on position the cel comes on for a second then goes off. but if your realli worried about it try go jump your service wire to see if there is a permanent code left in the memory.

Happened to me with my knock sensor code. It would not be on when I start the car, but come on later while driving.

See if you can pull the code

The ecu I have is chipped with knock sensor disabled, could this still be the issue? I had the ecu on the car for about two months now and this just started for a few days. One thing is, my car currently doesn't have a o2 sensor connected, there's just a deadbolt going to the o2 hole. I think this may be the problem but I've been driving like that for a while without any cel lights.

I didn't mean to mislead you to thinking its a knock problem. Just saying I've had this problem also

Find out what code then come back

jump the ecu to find out the exact code(s) first, then fix accordingly.

the o2 sensor is one of your more important sensors, hook one up asap.
