Default CEL Code #90???

Hey, I recently got a check engine light. I've done this many times in the past...jumped the service connector & it comes out to be a code 90. Problem is on the list stickied in this section there is no 90. Anyone know what it is before I make a trip to autozone & use their scanner? 9 long blinks, I'm confident it's a 90 & it's on 99-00 SI ecu. Thanks!

Okay I just found something on cspeed... http://www.c-speedracing.com/faq/05.php
Scroll down to 90

It says...
"90"
96-98 Civic
97-98 Prelude
94+ Integra Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area

Problem is, my car is a 2000 Civic EX (GSR swap) with a 99-00 SI ecu.
Does that particular code 90 not apply & maybe something different for the 99-00 years?

Yes, the code also applies to a 2000 Civic EX and Si. Was the EVAP system disabled during the swap?

EVAP system leak. Start by checking whether the fuel cap seal is leaking.

Thanks for the info man. I don't know how the evap system would be disabled but now that you mention it, there are two hoses for the charcoal canister. 1 is bigger & goes into a hard line & the other 1 is smaller that I'm assuming connects to the intake somewhere. The smaller 1 was always missing. I've been driving this car without the smaller hose connected for almost a year (bought it that way) & never threw that code.

It has an edelbrock victor x mani with a bdl fuel rail & aftermartket FPR. On the back of the intake mani there is a few fittings for vacuum hoses & 1 (which I always found odd) is just looped to another fitting in the same row. I could take a pic if it helps but do you know where exactly the smaller vacuum hose on the canister would go on this manifold?
It's just odd that if that was the problem, why it took a year to throw a code for it which makes me question if that is the reason entirely.

PS. I checked the fuel cap & it seemed tight.

This is how it went down, while I was about to leave work my car was warming up in the lot & afterwards, I started talking with some buddies so my car was idling for almost 30 mins....Then I took off & started heading home (about a quarter tank of gas) & about 2 mins into my drive the CEL came on.

I rinsed my car with a hose before I left which first made believe the harness adaptor for my primary o2 got wet again & caused the cel which happened a few months back during a nasty rain storm.

Maybe the vacuum line diagrams below for the 2000 EX and Si will help:

Thanks again...heh Well I just went to check & I cant seem to find "purge joint" or the "evap purge control solenoid". Where would those be, on the stock manifold or firewall? I checked the firewall & didn't see any. I wonder if those are mounted on the stock manifold then how it would work using an aftermarket one such as the victorx..?

Would it help if I just ran a hose from the canister to the one of the fittings in the back of the manifold or would the purge joint/solenoid need to be in-line in order for it to work?

Hey is there a link you can send me this or perhaps pdf?
It appears as if the evap purge control solenoid valve is mounted on the fuel rail & so it's missing which maybe causing the problem but it's weird it shows up out of nowhere after a year. I'd be curious to check out page 11-288 for more trouble shooting.

Also I guess I'd have to use the scanner to tell if the code is a p1456 or p1457 to determine if it's a tank or caniser area issue.

I will PM you.

AutoZone will use a scan tool to pull the more detailed code for you free of charge.
