Default cel 10 IAT and bogging

I just got 94 lsvtec hatch with b18b1 and b16 head (not sure the year, but it says PR3.) and chipped p28

The car bogs like hell when the gas is applied and barely moves at all. Now if i press the pedal maybe not even 1/8th of the way it does it way less. This problem occurs the whole time when cold and less when at operating temperature. The CEL is reading 10 which is IAT (Idle Air Temperature) I am not familiar with the IAT sensor and its location, but from what i've read it seems if there is a block off on the IM than it should be in/around the air box or intake piping? The intake manifold i have has the blocked off IAT spot on it. Would this CEL 10 be the reason for the bogging or is this a combination of problems? Where do i start to fix this problem? Thanks

****also i'd like to add that the bogging isnt as bad above about 3000-3500 rpms

Sounds like it's an OBDII manifold, they have the IAT in the intake tube. The simpleist fix is to just run the OBDII IAT in the intake tube. All you need is the sensor and connector, then just wire the connector on to your harness and drill a hole in the intake tube for the sensor, install the sensor in the tube using a rubber gromet.

thanks for the input. So I guess i am not even running an IAT sensor... Do you think this could be causing my bogging problem? Also, do you know which wires on the harness are for the IAT? Thanks once again!

Yes, running with out the IAT will cause that. The wires you'll be looking for in the harness will be connected to a 2-pin connector (if memory serves me correctly that connector will be white rather than the usual grey, but the wire colors will seal the deal) located toward the back of the intake manifold on the driver's side (they will probably be loomed with another 2-pin connector do not get these mixed up) The IAT wire will be red/yel and grn/wht. The other connector that the IAT is loomed with is the EVAP solenoid connector it will be yel/blk and red. Just extend the IAT wires to the intake tube and install the OBDII IAT connector (it's squareish rather than round).

Thanks once again man, Its funny because there are 2 separate sets of 2 wires each laying loose behind the intake. Really appreciate it!

Sounds to me like your FITV (fast idle thermo valve) is loose. This is very common and easy to fix. This can be done without removing the valve but if you've never done it before it may be easier with it off the throttle body (if you want to remove it just remove the coolant line and the three 10mm bolts that hold it on). On the bottom of the throttle body there is a small valve with a small coolant line going to it, on the back (firewall side) there is a plate that's held on by two 8mm screws. Remove those screws along with the cover plate, inside you will find a white plastic piece with slots for a flat blade screw driver toward the outer edge, simply spin the entire white piece clockwise until it is snug in the valve and reinstall everything in the reverse order.

I know extacty what you are talking about. When replacing the throttle body I went ahead an cleaned the fitv and it was abit loose but I didn't think anything of it. If I screw it in more would it cause me to idle even lower when warm? When warm it's perfect I just need it to idle good when cold.

FITV shouldn't affect warm idle speed.

Well i plugged in a IAT sensor and it runs alot better. Im guessing it still has multiple problems because it still bogs/ breaks up periodically while accelerating. So i was looking around the engine bay and noticed there are no o2 sensors. It has a header so the only spot for an o2 is straight below the intake manifold and there is a bolt stuck in there. Will running no 02 sensor cause funny running?

yes the missing o2 sensor will cause running issues.
