Re: causes of disc brakes to warp... (wizzards581)
heat, hot rotor plus water, braking too hard, leaving e-brake on, caliper stuck, used rotors that were already warped, rotors that were warped before and then cut, caliper slider stuck, lifetime garented auto zone pads that are like a rock.....ummm many many things cause rotor warpage.
my sugestion......get new rotors, pads and make sure all sliders are lubed and free, also make sure caliper is not sticking. then torque wheels too. evenly of course

Have you checked the sliders to see that it moves freely like mentioned?
the only thing that warps rotors is exteme heat mixed with either fast cooling or too much pressure (from the caliper)...
This can be caused by lots of things... most of which have been mentioned already...

well i checked it by braking and releasing the brake while the wheels are in the air. it spins freely when the brakes are released. but it grinds the pads alittle. some side grinds and some dont. both of the rear disc does this. so????

Did you torque your calipers back down properly after changing the pads? Do you torque your wheels down properly when you put your tires on? Do you break your rotors in properly?

Take off your calipers and check to see if they slide properly... you probobly just need to lube the sliders...
they should slide pretty easily....
You just have to take off the 2 caliper brackey bolts and leave the line's connected...
Balance them on their back and try sliding the bracket away from and towards the caliper... they should slide easily... if not pull the bracket all the way off the caliper and lube the 2 pins with antisieze or specialized brake pin grease (which actually tends to not last as long as antisieze). and be sure the rubber boots are seated well and not cracked when you re-install them...
If they don't slide Freely after that you may need some new pins... you should be able to see if they're bent...
Good luck.

also if your parking brak is improperly adjusted it would drag.
One more thing is say your coming off of the hwy and brake kinda hard and when you come to a complete stop at the bottom you dont let your foot off of the brake and just stand on it. The rotors wont cool or contract evenly cuz the caliper is still clamped on to them.

What kind of rotors did you put on???
Any kind of cross drilled rotor will warp more than any other kinda. Blank rotors and slotted don't warp like crossdrilled rotors do.

Over tightening lugs or uneven tightening of lugs will also warp the rotor. I used to over tighten mine and I ALWAYS had shitty brakes. Once I went easy on the lug wrench, it has been silk ever since.
