Catch Can off Valve cover??
hey guys ive seen a lot of this on HT now and i was just woundering if someone could explane what it does/ the benifits of doing it ...thanks

I was told that it keeps oil from getting in the engine bay, but not really sure how it works. Hopefully someone will chime in with a valuable answer.

A catch can, primarilly used on boosted applications (but not uinheard of on an NA application by any means), is used to releave pressure under the valve cover. In doing so, it "catches" oil that would normally be forced out around seals in the can for which it is named. The oil/sludge is trapped in the can and the air is fed back into the valve cover/manifold area.
That's a rudimentary definition. You can learn more via searching. I don't do a lot of boosting, myself (NA **** here), but it's a start.

would a catch can get rid of the oil fumes also...i get them while driving somtimes it give me a hella headache sometime..
