Default Carbon Fiber doors, safe or not?

I saw a pair of cabon fiber doors from Siebon on the net and wanted to know if they would be safe to use?
If I got side swiped by another car or something would it borst into a thousand pieces, I know it cabon fiber but how strong is carbon fiber?

common sense - they said for off road use only should deem how well they would be in an accident

not necessarily... They are not tested for how well they will protect you in a crash, so for off road use only is just legal text. However, they may hold up just fine... i have no idea. I don't know about them being stronger than steel... it is usually made to be as strong, but lighter. [cf is stronger by weight]

Carbon is definitely not indestructible (unless you are getting it from NASA or something). I was only going 15mph down an off ramp and rear ended someone and the car caught on fire. (Carbon not fire retardant either. LOL)

If u get them be very careful plus they are probably very easy to break into as all you have to do is kick them in unless they have the OEM steel structure housing.

exactly why the cf doors are not as strong they do not have the reinforced inner structure on any of them i have seen , they are just hollowed shells

You might be able to get away with it if you had a 12pt roll cage installed

No they will crack...they to have a skeleton reienforced but with what ohh yeah somemore fiberglass..now if you get side swiped..kiss door forever gone..and maybe you..cause all this depends on the speed of other vehicle....Thats of cours unless you get carbon carbon..base door..which only race use only again..and indy car bodys are made of it...nascar neck braces..race clutches and etc....So that would cost a fortuine.and look at them they still break...and catch on fire as he says....ITs not made for accidents or high stress or heat..

Just make sure you have a cage installed with a bar running along side of the door.

Why wouldn't we understand?

Are you saying that everyone makes fun of this explosive vehicle without knowing what its a bad car? that can't be!

I think because for most people they dont know other cars out side of honda and imports. I got that joke and nearly pissed my pants laughing.

I wouldnt get CF doors unless the car is completely a track car. Even then i dont know if its legal by rules.

Take a cf hood and an oem hood and hang them side by side on a wall. Now beat the **** out of each one of em. Which one held up better?

On Rides last night, they were showing the behind the scenes of the Corvette C6-R. As most of you probably know, the whole body is carbon fiber, yet I saw a crash into the wall (carbon fiber disc blew up literally) and the body looked nearly perfect. So...?? It was a pretty sweet show. Those carbon fiber discs are supposed to hold up to I forget 900 or 9000 degrees?

No way is carbon fiber stronger than steel... hey was the corvette side swiped like t-bone...now see what it would look like then and how fast was the crash...Is the car carbon fiber...and braced behind the carbon fiber..kinda metal skelton..?????
