car wont start weird things happening w/ fuel pump
my buddy has a 1994 hatch with a LSV swapped in. We got the car running and it was running great. Next day he goes to start it and nothing no cranking. Now this is where the situation gets odd. When you first turn the car on (first click with key) you do NOT hear the fuel pump prime at all. Then when you turn it over to try and start it and the key comes back to "ON" then the fuel pump will prime.
When it started this it poped the 6.5 backup fuse. We swapped that out to another 6.5 fuse and it hasnt poped that fuse.
Fuel pump is a walbro.
What we have done (all the parts swapped parts came off a running car)
swapped out ECU
swapped out wiring harness
checked timing 5 times.
Swapped out the main relay
Anybody have a place to look?? We just cant figure out what could make the fuel pump do what it is doing.

test the starter. you could have a short in it, causing these issues.
hook up some jumper cables first, if it arcs then continue testing the starter.
this happened to me about a month ago now.

it dosent crank over at all. When you try to start it you get nothing then let the key go to on the fuel pump will then prime.....but if you just put the key to on it will not prime you have to try to turn it over for the pump to prime

how many volts does the battery read? then how many does it read after you put a load on it?
have you already tried giving it a jump just in case?

battery is good. just checked that. This is so weird. It wont prime unless you try to turn the car over and when you try that it does nothing

Have you checked your alternator? You might have a faulty alternator or voltage regulator? It's worth a shot.

for the 3rd time, try to jump the car, chances are you are going to arc out. you have a short or bad ground somewhere. If you arc, then start by testing the starter.

Check the plug that goes to that starter not the power wire that is bolted but the little spade plug that goes on the starter and chase that. I had the same problem after wire tuck, no crank turn the key and starter would prime I noticed it was t plugged it and plugged it in and it started first try
