Car won't start, stumped. Help!
92 civic cx, d16a6 engine.
in the summer, car used to crank but not catch, my friend who's a tech said that it's an ignitor problem and that eventually it'll need to be fixed, but that it's something that will only manifest itself when the car is hot.
I experienced this problem a couple times over the summer, and sure enough, I waited a while, and then the car started fine. The reason I relate this story is because I am not expert, but I *think* I'm having a different problem now.
Now, the car won't crank at all. All the lights come on in the dash, etc, battery shows 12 volts. I hear the click near the door panel that evidently indicates that the main relay is ok, and I can hear the fuel pump priming, so I know the engine is getting gas.
I searched around on here and found out about the clutch switch. I went in and spliced the two wires together for the top clutch switch of two.
Then I took off the starter, took it to autozone, they tested it fine.
Today, took off distributor, bought new cap and rotor, put it back on.
I can take a screwdriver to the starter and bridge the two terminals, and it just cranks a very little bit, as though something is preventing the car from starting. I can't figure out what on earth that is, however.
Is it possible that the ignitor could go out completely and this would cause this problem? Or is there something else here? Thanks in advance for the help.

Sorry I didn't respond right away, decided f*** it for the weekend...
Where would I start for checking grounds? The main ground should be ok if I have power to everything else right? Is there just a starter ground that I maybe need to check? How would I do that?
Thanks again in advance...
