Default car seems to lose power in low RPM then at higher RPM the power kicks in

ok... when i'm taking off in first gear, my car seems really weak, then all of a sudden it feels like the power is kicking in. what could it be? i have a stereo system in my car and i bump it, could that be draining my battery? could it be the alternator? or could it be my clutch?

do you have vtec? i dont think that the stereo would make any difference. but i do know that power steering and AC do sap a little power.

It's called having a B16A. They're torqueless wonders. No power until midrange, and then vtec kicks at 5500.
