Car is running very hot HELP
I just picked up this car with a blown head gasket. The head was warped had it machined, put a new head gasket torqued everything to spec. Filled the radiator. check transmission flued, new thermostat and gasket, new belts except timing belt, im sure theres more things im missing right now that i replaced while doin this. Took for a spin and its wants to run hot. i noticed that the fan does not kick on. whn it warms up. Anything else that i should check?

Check your grounds. Had similar issue years ago. did the head and gasket and the issue ended up being a loose gound to the tranny which when driving would intemittently shut the fan off.
Also bleed your radiator.

x2, this is the most common problem after that. Still double check the thermostat, you can always get a lemon even with the best.
also, possibly the head was shaved poorly and it is still leaking? Unfortunately there are not a lot of ways to check this. At least not if it isn't major, you could check the compression, and you could check the oil to see if it looks milky, that's about it.

Re: (RagnarX)
got the problem fixed, atleast i think. Air in the cooling system, leak in one of the coolant hoses, and leak in a vacuum line. drove it about 10 miles today and no signs of problems
