ok i just did a block rebuild on a friends d16y8.I replaced the crankshaft with a z6 one because his old one was so damaged.New bearings and new rings OEM.Started it up car runs fine has a slight tick in the head.When i rev it to 3500 rpm at it has a louder tick but sounds close to a knock.Adjusted the valves still same deal.Compression test ran 200 200 180 200 Test drove the car and it has no power after 3k rpm and rpm stops at 4k no matter how much throttle i give it.It just sits and bogs on 4k as if i was only giving it half throttle.Im really clueless now.Everything was replaced on the block and checked.Any ideas anyone?

what were the bearing clearances?

he did the timming with a timming light and he did the bearing clearnaces.The day he stoped his car when it had no oil it did this which is the reason we took it appart and rebuilt it.

did the same oil pump get reused? Do you have oil pressure?

Yea he told me he reused the oil pump but he checked the gears with feeler guages.We didnt checked the oil pressure because we dont have a guage to check it

Oil pump runs 60 psi at idle.Tried different injectors,timming is right perfectly on,just dosent go past 5k rpm now anyone have any ideas?Also tried different ecu .Maybe dizzy?

check the comprecion it could be that the car is losing it comprecion....

yes to the best of my knowledge the fuel pump works properly.It primes sounds pretty strong but cant find a fitting to check the fuel pressure with my fp guage

the compression was 190 across except 180 on cylinder 2
