car goes to 130 in 4th, shift to 5th and hits governer
I was playing around with a Tiburon on the highway today, and noticed that my 4th gear (dx trans) takes me to 130 mph at 5500 RPMs. I shift to 5th, and hit the governer instantly. I shift back down to 4th and have no problem going back up to 130 mph again. why would this be? i understand what the governer does etc, but would'nt it do stop me in 4th gear as well? interesting how i can go higher in 4th but not in 5th.. any body have any explanations?

and if it makes you feel any better, its an abandoned highway that is 100% straight for many miles and hardly ever any other cars. the fact that the tiburon was on it was amazing in itself.

Don't drive at all. I changed my mind about the speed. I don't want people like you on the road period.

130 is not safe in any car on any road, let alone some 'abandoned highway' I'm sure that really well maintained right? No potholes or anything that has any chance of knocking you off course into a ditch or a tree I'm sure......
