Car cranks but wont start (obd1 d16z6 in 1996 DX)
Okay I have gone through everything.
Here is what I have:
car: 1996 Civic DX
obd1 d16z6 from a 1995 EX
obd2 harness w/ obd1 injector plugs, obd1 dizzy plugs, obd1 alternator plugs
obd2-->obd1 ECU harness
obd1 virgin p28
The car will crank, but it will not start. I have spark, and the fuel pump primes. At first I though the fuel pump was not priming but I am sure the main relay is okay. I have triple checked my dizzy wiring to make sure it is spliced correctly and I have checked for spark, and it does have spark.
So is there anything else that I am overlooking. I am new to EK's and thats why this is pissing me off, I am much more used to DC's and EG's so if there is anything I am missing please let me know. The car is not throwing any CEL's but the CEL does come on when I turn the key to on so I know the ecu is getting power.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I am getting no power to the injectors, any ideas?!?!

Re: Car cranks but wont start (sleeperrex)
i never took the timing belt off, only tensioned it so i dont think it can be timing, im gonna check fuel injectors maybe i have them plugged in in the wrong order. im also gonna check the main relay again and plug in a new one to double check.

anyone have any idea
the harness came off of a running motor and the motor came out of a running car. so i dont know wtf is going on, its not getting fuel
could the dizzy wiring cause it not to get fuel?

Re: (midwesta)
Verify that you have a good main relay as the injectors are powered through it. If that checks out ok suspect a possible bad ecu.
Also possible you got a bad conversion harness. Put your obd2 ecu back in and try it.

already swapped main relay, not the solution.
conversion harness was already used on a running b series w/ a hondata p28.
i am gonna try and find another ECU to try.

The main relay is the only relay that could stop voltage from being provided to the injectors. What's odd though is that you're getting spark...which means the ECU is getting power. The ECU gets power from the main relay. It branches off the very same wire that provides power to the injectors.
Maybe the splice job of the OBD1 injectors is the problem??

yeah thats why i am so lost, im gonna try a new ecu, but the splice job should be fine because the wiring harness came of a running B series motor
and yes the d series was running with this ecu when i pulled it. so i am lost. im gonna check the injector wiring and try a new ecu this week
any other ideas?

u said it was runnin and u ddint touch timing...but i think u should still check to make sure.. the timing can always jump so u never know make sure its all lined up and TDC, cuz u said u were gettin spark and all so thats all i think would be the problem

yeah i checked timing.
Charlie from topsetup (american touge videos) came over to my garage, and we spent another 3 hours on it and it still didnt run, so i figure over 7 hours of work to get it to run isnt worth it, and i pulled the motor back out and put the d16y7 in there thats obd2
