probobly a weak alternator... that or the belt is just poorly adjusted...
my car does the same thing and I'm almost positive it's either the alternator or the belt... hopefully by the end of the week I should know for sure...
anyone else thinks different please add your .02.

First off, what kind of lights do you have? JDM or USDM. If JDM are you using JDM headlight fluid? Also, you can not use JDM fluid with USDM headlights. If you are using the correct headlight fluid, is it filled to the ''Shine'' Line? Last but not least check your HLF convertor switch.
j/j, do what they two chaps said above.

go to a junk yard!!! call every place in the phone book. i just replaced the alternator in my tiburon, and everyone wanted over $200 for a new one...damn hyundais. i ended up getting one from a junk yard for $50, and it works great. that should save you some cash...
i didn't notice which engine you said you had, but i've got a d16 alternator and belt for sale if you need it.

You can get an aftermarket rebuild for under 200... I found a guy on ebay that sells fully warantied 130amp alternators for civics... if anyone wants his contact info I can dig it up...
OH and there is no g dam alternator fuse.... I was gunna say but who knows so I checked... no alt fuse...

ok I changed my battery and put in a new alternator, it doesn't do it as bad, but it still does it. what can it be? I am going to put in my msd 6al right now. would that be a bad idea? or a good idea.... I am pretty damn lost.
all the help will be appreciated.

Re: (nigel)
I don't know my buddy suggested to look at the iacv... which makes sense... my car has high miles and it's never been so much as looked at... and it does regulate the idle....
but my problem is a little different because mine does it lights on or off... just runs like poo poo at 2-3k and at idle... it's rediculous when theres an electrical load though...
So I'm thinking either the voltage regulator or the iacv... but I could be wrong... wait and see if anyone else chimes in....

Re: (161822)
he already replaced the alternator...
I didn't realize the voltage regulator was internal...'
in that case I have no idea... what about the "eld" electronic load dectector... (is there one) and could that be it?
Just checked the manual...
It does have one but indicates that if it's malfunctioning it should trip a mil. It's in the main fuse box under the hood. It's the bit closest to the front (of the car) passenger side of the fuse box.
If anyone has any bright ideas or personal experience please add it.
