Default car bogging under load? Help

This seems to be my problem, and its driving me crazy, Let me first start off saying i have a d16y7 block with a y8 head, and in a 1993 honda civic, I'm using the DX distributor, so I can keep it ODB1. I had to grind out the holes to get it to fit. So when I start it up, It starts fine, but right when I give it some throttle, It bogs down, when I hook a timing light to it, It seems as though its in time, and then when I hit the throttle, It goes to the white TDC mark, while boging down, and then catch's itself and moves back to the red timing mark, where it should be, I have the distributor all the way forwards, towards the radiator; retarded. thats as much as I can go, Maybe I need to grind more of the hole out, So I can adjust it further? Maybe intake manifold gasket? This is driving me crazy, If anyone can help me, Let me know, Thanks

First of all... you had to drill it out in order to make it fit.

Thats all I should have to say.
