clicking when turning is typically a sign of a bad CV joint (axle)

but it could be something rubbing, turn the wheel and look in there and see if the tire is rubbing on anything.

i looked under the wheel well and no sign or tired wear, but i looked a the axle, and BAM! the little boot is torn open. can this be replaced or do i have to buy a whole new axle?

go to autozone or napa and get a new one, they will give you credit for the core.
