Cant Figure out why this is happening!!!
Ok ive got a situation here...Just picked up a 93 Civic Hatch for $800 clean title running...The motor is the d16a6 i believe and it has the eg si tranny...
Anyways for the price i knew its gonna be work but its all good...
I just cant figure out why it keeps overheating? first of all when i got it it ran horrible with white smoke coming out the exhaust...
First thing i changed the next day was the head gasket...after that it ran great with no smoke...then it started over heating and the heater wouldn't work so i changed the thermostat and that fixed the heater but still overheats...So i change the radiator with a working one i had laying around...
Still didn't fix the problem so i changed the rad cap because the other was old...Still nothing so i check the heater core and no problems there...
So this morning i get up and decide it time to check the water pump ...i get it up in the air and check it out but still seem to be in perfect running order ( no leaks from bottom check hole and the bearings are still smooth)...When it overheats it seems like the coolant just boils out within 10 mins??
Im Pretty Much stuck here for the moment...can someone help me out here...im gonna end up have a whole new cooling system on this thing in the first week lol
Heh it may seem like i got a bad deal but actually my budget on this ride still hasnt broken $900 including the price of the car lol
If all else fails ill get a swap and have a clean title eg for cheap
Anyways somebody throw me any ideas i can try out

Re: (Dirty Corey.)
yep... check for air-locks....
or else, how dirty is your original coolant? my guess would be a clogged coolant gallery.
get it sorted to a radiator specialist... save u all the trouble. they'll test it and will find the culprit quicker than u.... plus u dont have to deal with all the mess.
