Can i supercharge on a 12.1 comp lsvtek motor? help plz

Default Can i supercharge on a 12.1 comp lsvtek motor? help plz

k so im need some help on my setup and wat to do? i have a lsvtek setup that i wanna supercharge but worried that the compresion is to high. need some help on my build on what i should go for either all motor or a supercharger ... bad thing is ive been boosting all my life and wanted to go with somethn new this year but i dont have no clue wats bad *** for all motor or know how to mess with a supercharger... so this is my setup bottom end has zero miles brand new with alot of goodies?



91 Ls Block-
Bored .5 over
New Type R 81.5mm pistons
Pistons Diped n a protective coating to make them stronger will withstand high heat and rpm
New Nitric pistons rings
New ARP rod bolts..
New ls rods shotpeend
Micropolished n balanced crankshaft
New Kings thrust Full Race Bearings
New main seal
All seals r brand new block was decked and cleaned before the build ...block was shaved for higher compression
Head 2000 Civic SI b16 heas:
Machined and clean out when I got the head it was at 66xxxmiles...head is all stock....
Newerformance head gasket thick for higher compression...its about 12.1 compresion....????

Sure you can, you won't be able to run much and you'll need a tuner who's confident at what he does, but it can be done. It's all about where you want your power... if you want more top end you'll have to drop the compression a little.

i would def be careful with that 12.1:1 is really high compression but talk to a really good tuner

a thick hg would raise the compression not lower it. do you have any idea what compression you're actually at? how did you come up with 12.1? not to say it can't be done, but it'd be a lot easier to boost and tune it if it were like 9:1 or there abouts.

To the OP, with what you have listed there...depending on the HG, your compression should be about 11:1

Not sure where you figure out the higher number from!

what? you mean a thick headgasket will lower compression not raise it..

the shop that it was done at they had told me that the compression would be around 12.1 i know i sound like a fool but ive always went stock b20b with high boost and a great tune but now i just wanna try somethn else after i threw a rod in my old b20 so thats y i hav no clue wats goin on or wat to do sorry guys and thanx for tryn to help me out tho... so if u say it sounds like its a 11.1 comp i guess thats better for me cuz i was about to go another route and start over but that would be a pain in the *** for me

yes it will because its increasing the size of the compression chamber.

yes that is what i meant. it came out bass ackwards lol. it raises how high the cylinder head sits and how much volume is in the combustion chamber though. i think that's how i managed to confuse that lol.

i would but i rarely see people with jrsc in reno other than my boys? but there not ls.vtek they are built swaps...whos this tho???

its logan. i hangout with robert. used to roll the ef sedan on si's.
you should hit up javier on nolimit. elguapo is his name on there. he had a jrsc on his del sol.
