Default Can I convert my P06(non-vtec) to a P08(vtec)

I'm doing a mini-me swap:

D15B JDM VTEC head
D15B7 block
D16Y8 head gasket
D16Z6 timing belt

I would love to convert my P06 ECU, which was used when my whole engine was D15B7 nonvtec, to a P08 JDM VTEC ECU. Do I just change the chip in the ECU?

Another thing. Since they are both D15B, can I use the old timing belt? Hmmm...
