its all about the surface... the primer is gonna have to be able to stick to the surface... so get a scuff pad... 3M makes 3 different kinds.. you need to get the maroon one.. its the most corse and is for for applying primer... then just scuff whatever you are goin to paint real good... it should be very very dull when your done scuffing... then just apply even coats of primer... and let each coat dry b4 applying another one

is that gonna be enough? i want a flawless paint job. how do you like your b18b1? anyways...my hood has spray paint on it and i have to get that off. will that pad be enought to take off the paint? any other advice?

how do you spray the primer w/out getting over spay? just tape off the selected area? when i did that in the past taping off areas the primer seemed to build up into a layer that bubbled out from the rest of the car.. almost like i put a sticker on it.. was this because i put too much on?

i love my b18b.... it moves pretty good... and the hatch is such a light car so it makes it even better... the b18b has nice torque which makes it real fun to drive.
