camshaft tech
can someone explain what all the #'s mean?(advertised duration, duration @0.05, max valve lift, centerline, lash). What is better for n/a, nitrous, and turbo applications? Thanks.

Re: camshaft tech (stockgreencivic)
depends on what cams.
the cam lift is how much the valve opens
the cam duration is how long the valve is open
for N/A, the biggest of all of 'em with a ported head, upgraded valve train and very high CR is the best.
for all motor, you're generally looking for the highest lift and longest duration w/o piston-valve slap.
for nitrous & turbo, they are generally a 'mild cam'. for turbo, you want the highest lift you can get, but the smallest duration.
HTH.
