one of those attachments is the hot side and one is the cold. You want to fill the cold side. I am pretty sure that the hose will only fit one (or maybe that is on r12).

When you are adding the freon, have someone sit inside the car to bump the idle up while you add it to the system... add enough so that the vents are blowing cold air.

yes , refil on the suction side (low pressure/cold side). do not connect it to the high side, your can will explode. do not overcharge the system either. if you can afford it, spend the 40 bux and get the low/high gauge set so you can check the pressures on both sides to make sure everything is working properly.

If you insist on doing this on your own. (which I really do not recommend) get a set of manifold gages (r134a of course). You still have no way of detecting leaks. A/C systems don't just start blowing warm because they need a recharge and that's it. Something is either leaking, clogged, or failed.

There is no set pressure of where the low or high side should be. You have to take ambient temperature into consideration along with the pressure readings and compare them to the chart. This will tell you where your pressures are supposed to be.
