A/C question
Bought a used compressor for my 95 civic DX coupe. It fits fine but the discharge and suction line fittings are too big. The threads for the bolts are also bigger. Does this mean I have the wrong compressor? Or do I need adaptors or new hoses? I think this compressor may have come from a 93 hatch.
What do I need to get this working?

Re: A/C question (ikarma)
I just compared the two compressors and my original has S90 F stamped on the back and the one I just put in has F90 C stamped on it

I think there are two different compressor manufacturers for Honda, and it sounds like you bought the wrong one. They need to be identical make/model. Not sure if year so much matters, but it might.

Re: A/C question (ikarma)
the compressor you bought uses R12 freon. The compressor on your car probably uses R-134a. They both fit the same, but as u mentioned above, the lines are different, and so are the bolts

Re: A/C question (mingchi69)
Can that R12 compressor use R134a? And is there a way to convert the hoses or replace them with ones that fit? Or will that just create more problems (like the other end of the hoses not fitting)
If not perhaps I can rebuild my old compressor because the housings are identical except for the stamped number.
