Default A/C compressor

93 honda civic si 1.6l (stock) 240,000 miles

I am having a lack of power when the a/c is on it bogs then picks up.

Is this a sign that i need a new compressor.

I checked to see if it is seesing up, and checked the belt out for cracks but it isn't.

thanks for looking!!!!

only 2 bolts to take out the high and low pressure ac lines on compressor...disconnect the power plug..unscrew 4 long bolts..and it is out..pretty staright forward and easy

oh there is a adjust bracket and bolt to loose the pulley in order to loose belt..it is pretty straight forward too.

unless the system was retrofit to R134 has R12 coolant in it and you will need to take it some where to have the R12 recycled. It is also very expensive to recharge the system with R12 so you will more than likely need to switch over to the new R134

I know that R12 was drained out but not vacuumed out completely and was retro fitted to the 134a.
