Buy OEM or third party? 95 Civic Trailing Arm Bushings
I bought some rear trailing arm bushings for my 95 Civic EX online for $35. If I were to go with the Honda ones, it would have been more than $80. But now, I'm not so sure about the quality of these bushings (there are holes in them already, and they don't look like they're the same length as each other) and I would rather have good, expensive bushings than cheap, bad ones. That being said, if these bushings will work, I'm more than happy to save some cash. Thanks for the help, friends.

i think you'll be okay
as long as the rubber is still in good shape and not cracked or dry rotted you should be fine.

Would you consider this cracked? I saw Engineering Explained do this job and it looked like his new bushings had the same tear through the sides, like on the right in the picture.

yea i think thats normal...if the main pillars (where its stamped GSR..were cracked..id say they were no good)
The trailing arm bushings on my integra track beater have about 200K miles on them and are trashed and they look way worse than this.

Re: Buy OEM or third party? 95 Civic Trailing Arm Bushings
So I tried putting those in and they didn't fit. Ended up bending one. Turns out the outside needs to be beveled in order to slip in correctly. So I went to AutoZone and bought real ones that fit. I got a question, the passenger side bushing didn't go in symmetrically (the front part sticks out a little farther than the back part) but I got it to for back in. This doesn't seem like a big deal to me, and I really don't want to do it again. Should it be alright a little asymmetrical, or is it a surprise concern that needs to be fixed right away? Thanks.
