Burn out question!
Hi, This may sound like a bit of a stupid question.
I hear some people have been able to lock the rear wheels properly in order to carry out a front wheel drive burn out.
Is it alright to use your hand brake for 3-5seconds before you let it go? can any damage be done?
Obviously you never do it on a rear wheel drive car but is it ok on front wheel drive cars?

uh... well it wont damage your radio but you might expect some pretty harsh wear on your drive train .

Won't really damage anything but your tires... Fronts will get a nice warm up, however depending on how long you run the burnout, you could put a nice flat spot on your rear tires by draging them locked... Too bad to say that those flat spots kinda ruin your handling in corners, being that the back tires will now have a slight hop to them.
Depending on the power of your car, you should be able to run a good burnout with a little pressure on the hand-brake, enough to give resistance, but not too much to lock the rear and drag the tires....

If you like that smell, they do sell candles with the smell of burning tires. That might soothe your need for burning rubber smell. Burnouts are not good for any of ur car...i wouldnt do it, but it sure as hell is nice to see one once in a while.
