broken fuel line
i have a 1992 eg hatch CX, the fuel line that runs from the tank to the fuel filter is split in front of the filter... i was wondering if you have to replace it or can part of the line be replaced or is there a sealant that can hold the pressure/ rubber tubing? thanks for any help... in case you arent sure this line is not rubber it is metal. thanks

Re: broken fuel line (tcfsurfer)
I hope others will chime in with some better suggestions but you could cut the metal line a few inches below, get another piece of line from the junkyard and then flare the cut ends with fittings on each side to screw together....then bam back to normal.

you can buy compression fittings that basically self flare the lines when tightened. personally i wouldnt do it because they are brass and soft. i would flare my own lines and use fittings. but in a fix you could use the $2 compression fittings, they are avail at any parts store, and vary in size.
