Default broken cam seals

the guy before me put in gsr cams and didnt change seals and now they are leaking and one is actually spinning with the cam. b16a jdm motor. i bought new ones from a parts store and specified 99 civic si (b16a2 i believe) which i figured would use the same seal. they dont fit. i had my friend have a look who is a a-level technician of 7 years who has worked on many hondas, and he agreed they where slightly too big. just to be sure, i checked that the old ones would go in and they did, tapped in lightly with a socket.

so 99-00 si uses different seals than the jdm b16 of early 90's decent?

another thing, is there a way to tell exactly what year my motor is by the engine stamp. i googled to no avail
stamp reads:

B16A
5007112

I too have a early '90s JDM B16A, the date of manufacture stamp is cast into the head between and above the exhaust ports for cylinders #3 and #4. Looks kinda like this: (9|2) which means 1992.

About the block number, I don't think you'll find much info about it. You'll have to contact Honda in Japan (lol) to find out anything.

Didn't know that about the cam seals. Any chance that they are the wrong ones?

The PR3 head (all B16s, B17A1, and B18C5) and P72 head (B18C1) use the same cam seals - part number 91213-PR3-004.
