Brakes not working, possibly something else (pics)
Sup guys, I need some help.
Car: 94 EJ1 (Civic Ex)
Symptons: Brakes are out, crapload of grease? or brake fluid? all over front driver rim.
I turned on my car this morning, tried backing up, brake pedal sinks to floor. I havent touched the brakes since I last changed them 2 months ago. Based on the pictures below, you would think its brake fluid, but my brake fluid (tank) is full...I dont get it. I didnt feel anything yesterday, everything was cool yesterday. I pumped the brake pedal, and it doesnt harden up. A mechanic stopped by, he said the caliper was fucked up, and my axle is fucked up. I really dont know what to believe, so any help would be appreciated. See pictures below. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks in advanced!

to chagne tha axle.. not to bad..... u will need a 32mm socket i beleve for the axle nut.. and a pry bar to pop out the axle, and some new trany fluid to top it off or refill if you drain it

I agree that the axle is in bad shape... but as long as it's not making noise on turns, you could just replace the boot, clean the joint and repack the grease. But the torn and split open boot shouldn't cause your brakes to not work... if the rotor is covered with grease then they might not work well on that side... but you would still have 3 out of 4... If the pedal goes to the floor, a new axle won't fix that. There is a hydraulic problem in the brake system... leaking fluid, leaking caliper... binding caliper (unlikely), Bad master cylinder (most likely)... Fix the brakes first, then the axle... no use being able to go if you can't stop.
