Brake Swap Questions
94 ex without Abs, rear drums
I haven't measured yet but I believe my car should have the same size rotors as the 94-01 integras 10.2/3 something like that.
my question is if I do have the integra sized rotors will the teg calipers bolt right up to my civic caliper brackets, or will I have to swap the teg caliper bracket? HAs anyone done it?
Also I have read that all 94-01 except type r calipers are the same +/- ABS sensors, I don't have abs so can I just get the cheapest one(ex. RS)
One last question I went to Autozone to see about getting the 91 civic Brake Master Cylinder for a 4 door ex, but only had it listed for a 4 door with a 1.5 d15b** and d16a6, I assuming the the 4 dr with d16a6 is the ex with 4 wheel disc and no abs, is this correct?
Sorry for the long post
TIA

Re: Brake Swap Questions (egsleepercivic)
I can't tell you anything about the calipers. As for the master cylinder, just ask the guy to bring you both and inspect them yourself. The main problem is that he will probably bring you two 13/16ths ones even though the 91 EX 4door has the 15/16ths. The one you want should either say "15/16" on it or at least look bigger than a standard 13/16 unit.
Good luck...

please search...
yes, the abs civic brakes are the same as integras
yes, the rotors are the same size (ex/em1 si/integra)
yes, the calipers from an integra will bolt right onto the ex brakets
No, abs doesnt work that way. So YES, abs calipers will work on a non-abs chassis
If youre unsure about the mc, ask them what size it is.

thanks^ but I have searched and come up with varying answers, just trying to clarify
The guys at autozone and Advance didn't know **** about the size of the MC because it wasn't listed in the computer
Has anyone actually bolted 94-01 *front*calipers to a 94-95 ex WITHOUT ABS caliper brackets, if so any issues
thanks again

I have them on my 97 ex - not that it matters. The are the SAME bracket sizes. Straight bolt-on affair. Nothing special needed.
what I just told you is 100%, perfectly, without a doubt correct.
If they dont know what theyre talking about (and that doesnt surprise me) go somewhere else or buy it off ebay, or honda directly. Its also around a million times easier (sometimes cheaper) to just get a 1" mc/bb set from an integra and just bend some lines.

thanks guys (pdiggitydogg, 94eg!)
It would be nice to get a new MC but autozone has the MC for $50 and the calipers for $30 each, so thats route I will go
Thanks again for the help
