Re: brake rotors
I can't remember where it use but I'm pretty sure it's on HT...there is a huge write-up on why drilled and slotted rotors are a horrible idea. Drilled or obviously not cast with the holes, and create EXTREMELY weak points all across your rotor. I can't remember the whole argument about slotted but it's all about dissipation of heat and gas having no advantage and the slots actually working against you due to less surface area.
98civdx is on point with his suggestion. Be safe on the roads out there though.

Re: brake rotors
I don't know. I ran slotted rotors and Akeebono pads on my Prelude for 8 years before I sold it. Running drilled and slotted now. Never really noticed any difference in stopping. Then again I don't drive like a maniac.
I've read all the pros and cons as well but they work for me and they don't wear away brake pads any faster than blanks.

Re: brake rotors
It is a fact they crack, no one can argue that.
However there are a lot of people who have never had it happen to them, but it still does. The chance gets greater with the cheeper rotors.
My friend bought a car with drilled and slotted rotors in front, both had cracks going all over them.
Yep plain old brembo blanks and hawk hps. HPS are a great street pad, but they also offer HP, and I belive HP plus pads.

Re: brake rotors
drilled and slotted i wouldn't street use, or even drilled.
but i have the same brembo slotted and akeebono pads for almost 3 years now. no problems slipping, grinding, excessive pad wear the like and i can still stop pretty well.
so i'd say either blanks or slotted between your personal preference.
