Default Brake Rotor Screws..Need help ASAP.

The picture below has two screws circled. What happens when one falls off?
or do those hold in? what is the purpose of those screws?

On one of my rotors one is missing? would it cause any issues? and weird noises?

Are your rotors important? Then so are the screws that secure the rotors..

those are for when they put it on at the factory, so the rotors didnt fall of the car. Drill those bitches out you dont need them unless ur **** about your work on ur car. If so, u'll need a impact hammer. They're a bitch if your car is older, so i'd just drill them out....good luck!

As others have stated, the screws are completely unnecessary. In fact, many people choose to leave them off when replacing the rotors, since they have a tendency to become stuck and difficult to remove. Anyone telling you that you need the screws simply has no idea what he or she is talking about.

these screws are there mainly just to make sure the rotors dont fall off on someones head at the assembly line. I actually bought some wagner rotors from oreillys for the front and they came without holes for these screws. so i dont have these screws anywhere on the front of my car.

WHen you think about it, how could they affect anything cuz when you torque down your lug nuts it holds everything flat right?

They are there for a reason, but it won't be a huge deal if not. They are like .03 cents so you should just get new ones.

Yes, they are there for a reason, but that reason has nothing to do with the end user of the vehicle. Once the car leaves the assembly line, they no longer serve a purpose.

^^^Yep, I have worked on pontiac brakes and when you take the rim/wheel and the caliper off, the rotors can be pulled off. The wheel holds the rotor onto the hub

i dont see how one fell off, the usually require you to have to use power drill, or dremel it into a big flathead shape and do that

Well I left mine on so when I was replace the caliper bracked the rotor is solid and wont move around. I have an impact screwdriver so it makes it alot easier. If you have the right tools I would leave them on.

The screws aren't that important. So long as your lug nuts are on tight you won't have any problems. The screws sort of keep the rotor in place (especially when the wheel is off) and when the wheel is on the lug nuts do the job. Just go to the Honda dealsership and get a replacement, it'll cost cents.

Those are just kinda retaining screws. The wheel actually holds everything on tight.

You guys saying you should leave them on, do you realize the wheel is the thing that holds everything together there?

if it makes you feel better, just get some at your local pick and pull or the dealer, they are free at the pick and pull and cheap at the dealer.
