Default Brake Pedal Goes Straight to the Floor

Hi everyone.

I took my car out of winter storage today after not driving it for about 5 months. When I rolled down the driveway, I hit the brakes and the pedal went straught to the floor with pretty much no pressure. I had to use the ebrake to stop the car. When I pump the brakes the engine does rev up. The brake fluid resivoir was lower than the MIN marking.

The car worked perfectly before storage. I think it may be related to the brake master cylinder. Maybe the seal in that went out? there is no brake fluid on the ground or on any of the calipers front and back.

Any suggestions on what it can be? The car is a 1992 civic hatchback.

Thanks

Start off by getting yourself a bottle of Honda brake fluid, and giving the system a full bleed.

I had this problem and it ended up being the brake booster.

I currently have this problem on my 89 civic, It's the brake booster in my situation & it's hard to find a brake booster for this year, found it though so i guess i just need to order it.

isnt it odd if the lines all of a sudden got air in them? granted, the car has been sitting around for 5 months, but the brake resivoir still had fluid in it.

its a cheap enough fix, maybe i'll try this first.

It's not that the lines got air in them, its that the fluid deteriorated from not being used. It happened to my 98 during the 6 months it spent on jack stands, and a quick bleed fixed it right up.
