Default Brake/Horn 20 amp fuse repeatedly blowing?!

Hey guys. Taking a long trip this weekend and this problem that has arisen needs to be resolved so I don't draw any (unwanted) attention, especially from the cops.

Car is a 95 ex sedan. All power options. SRS system has been deleted from the car.

Here's the skinny:
I have in my car a "homemade" horn setup. SRS system was completely deleted from the car (which is neither here nor there) and I used a copper shoehorn from an EF (oem part, brand new) wired into the blank spot in the wiper switch plug that I tee-ed into a wire for the horn (blu/grn or blu/red, can't remember). This system worked flawlessly for the entire summer and fall. Recently I noticed that the shoehorn got lodged against the wheel somehow. It didn't trigger the horn this entire time. I then discovered my brake lights were out and the underhood 20 amp for the brake and horn circuits was blown. Horn does not work at all now that I have fixed the shoehorn.

I've since disconnected the wire from that ran from the shoehorn to the tapped wire, REPEATEDLY replaced the fuse, and disconnected the wires from the horn (it's an off the shelf one, no stock plug).

Anyone? Still not having any luck. I've even disconnected the plug from the horn relay and the problem is still there.

Ive been forced to swap in a 25Amp fuse and I would like to actually fix the problem before I melt my harness.

Remove the higher amp fuse to prevent a fire and destruction of the wires.

What car?

What exactly is the current problem? Does the brake/horn fuse still blow?

It seems clear that the jury-rigged wiring is the problem. Why not remove and return to stock?

Well the intention was to put an aftermarket hub and wheel on at some point. I tried to find a decent way to wire it at some point but I couldn't get any concise answers on how to bypass the srs wiring since the entire computer and airbags have been removed from the car.

I know it might not be the most professional wiring job, but it got the job done for the better part of 6 months and worked without fault until the shoehorn got wedged against the base of the wheel.

The current problem is that the fuse keeps blowing when I use the proper amped fuse, and the horn has stopped working since this incident. If I place a 20 amp in the circuit, it will usually blow within the day. And with all the wiring undone at this point, the issue is still persisting.

You must recognize that the jury-rigged wiring is almost surely the root of the problem. I'm not sure how you expect anybody to help as you've posted no pictures so it's unclear exactly what and how the system was modified. You need to provide detailed information. Otherwise, it's just anybody's guess.

You may want to consider sourcing unmolested wire harnesses and replacing your hacked ones.

Here is the EF shoehorn.

Here is where it comes out via the back of the headlight switch plug. I attached a spare wire that had the right kind of spade on it to it and ran it to just before the horn relay plug and tee-ed into one of two wires. IIRC I had wired it into the blu/grn. The blu/red was tested when I was initially wiring up but did not work.

Here's the horn plug.

Here's the only remaining portion of the SRS wiring in the car, as far as I know. Both harnesses to the clockspring and passenger side airbag and the SRS computer have been removed.
