Default Brake Booster Upgrades....WHY?

I notice everytime someone asks what a good brake upgrade would be someone always chimes in with "swap the booster and master cylinder from XXX car"

Yet there is never an answer as to WHY this is done...personally i think its a pain in the *** to swap out.

I understand if this is done to fit a certain Master Cylinder...but if its done purely from a booster standpoint....what exactly is to gain from using a bigger Booster? and what exactly does the booster do?

to keep the correct bore size on the booster / MC combo

its a 20 minute swap , I wouldnt even call that close to a hard swap.

Booster.....more fluid less movement, more pedal feel.

From what i heard, you have to stomp on the brake less than you would normally do. I would like to know the reason for this swap also.

the master cylinder gives you more fluid & less movement

bigger bore pushes more fluid....the master cylinder pushes same amount of fluid regardless of booster presence

When you upgrade to bigger disc brakes, you need to push more fluid to make the car stop as it originallly did... if you leave the booster and m/c stock, your brake pedal will feel like mush and not leave u with much braking control...

exactly.

BUT when you swap the MC to use the old booster you need to mod it to fit , easier just to swap both and call it a day.
