Default Boosted Mini Me

I did a search on what i was trying to find, learned a bit but still got a few questions. We have a 1.5b7 bottom end with a 1.6z6 head, were putting the ex tranny in with a new clutch tomorrow. Anyways we want to boost it, our compression is 220 all across which i hear isn't so great for turboing, lower the better right? I heard of getting a thicker head gasket or something to lower the compression a little more, is there any way we can do this safely? I think 6psi would be decent, its just a fun daily driver nothing more. I know the rods are like a toothpick so i think just a 14b off a dsm would be fine. Any input on how to get our compression ideal for boosting? Thanx again and yes i searched.
