Default high or low compression boost

hi everyone im new to honda-tech.....i have a b18b bottom end i want to boost it....ive been reading about low compression pistons and also high compression pistons with boost.....i have a set of 10.5 to 1 compression je pistons i was thinking of using them in my b18b....it has eagle rods and a fully built b18b head right now i want to put about 400whp does anyone have an idea whether to use those pistons or should i buy low compression like 8.5 to 1 compression......thanks

its all in the tune, you could get away with using the 10.5to1's but you would be better off with 9.2 to1 pistons just to be safe...another option is a thicker head gasket like a inlinePro 3mm that will lower compression and allow you to use the je's you already have, the inlinePro gasket is expensive tho it runs 300 bucks

You could do it, the margin for error is smaller. It will take less boost for you to hit the same goal, and your engine will have better respones out of boost but its more dangerous. I have 9.8:1 compression pistons. I had no problem hitting my goal (350-400). Just make sure you take it to a good tuner. I took mine to Mase.

If i were you I would drive to Easton to see Jeff Evans
