Boost guage spiking... it's impossible
my d16 turbo is boosted i have a external wastegate with a 9lb spring so i know i shouldnt be able to boost anything over 9... but for some reason my gauge is spiking up to and past 20 psi... i know this is impossible because ive only got 370cc injectors and the engine isnt pinging or backing off at all really... the gauge use to read accurate before the new turbo setup but not it just spikes to 20 or more but it definatley is not boosting 20 psi. i hear the wastegate open up too so im not sure if it is opening at 9 or what.. any ideas what could be causeing the gauge to freak out... i put in a new intake mani, exhaust mani, external wastegate, new turbo....didnt touch the tubbing to the gauge...help please!

you might want to check the hoses that go to the intake manifold and tb if thats not the case you might want to try a different wastegate maybe its defective.

blair its possible to hit 20 psi... ur injectors wont make u not hit that high of PSI... u need to probably switch the tubes on ur boost controller? or turn it the other way u might have it all the way up....
ur boost controller tricks ur wastegate to think its getting less then it really is so u can hit 20 psi...
but check ur Bcontroller...... call me tomarrow lata

Ty- lets all go on the 15 or when ever derick is going to intech ...
and im pretty sure thats the only way it can be hooked up to the wastegate other than that it would be totally backward and wouldnt make sence... but idk ill have king or someone look at it tomorrow... the wastegate did open up tho after it spiked and it felt more like 10psi then 20+ but idk... and if it is hitting 20 my injectors wouldnt be able to handle it at all id be pinging like no other ..something must be wrong with the way we hooked it up to the new intake mani...
and L33THXR my internals are forged ... but i still dont want to push her that hard without getting fully tuned ... my chip is only set to make 10psi max
