Default Bogging and low idle problems, got code 7 and 43....help!

I have a '93 Civic Si that's been running really boggy for a while now. It's been about a year since this problem first occured. After it starts, it slowly idles down from around 2100-1700 to lower than the tach can read, less than 500(?). At a stop, I can watch the tach needle bouce up and down as the engine surges, shakes violently, then idles way low again.

I've had one person say it may be the O2 sensor, but I've replaced it, and it's still doing the same stuff. I've checked the plugs, but they look fine, a tiny bit worn, but fine(NKG). Cap and rotor are good as far as I know. They were replaced last year because some bearings in my distributor fried and locked, causing my rotor to melt and fall off inside my cap. Components inside my distributor were replaced, not the whole dizzy (I didn't do the work on that, so I don't know the whole story).

I've heard that it could be a dirty iavc, but I don't know where that is, or how to clean it. Some say it might be dirty injectors and bad fuel filter. I'm getting those cleaned/replaced monday.

Last thing...last summer my dad bought me a bbk throttle body, DC 4-1 header, and a Venom 400 performance chip(none of this is what I really wanted, but when you return from Sweden and find your dad had someone put over $800 in parts onto your car, you thank him). I've had the car running with the chip on all the time, not activated, but on. Yesterday, I drove the car with the chip off, and found that it seemed to be masking the CEL codes I was supposed to be getting, #7 and #43, Throttle position sensor, and fuel delivery system. Do these chips have a history of screwing things up, or masking codes your car is throwing at you?

Guys, any help here at all will be very, VERY much appreciated. I really want to get my car running at it's full potential again.

majority of the time when your idle goes up and down you have a vaccuum leak somewhere.maybe the bbk throttle body was not put on correctly.i had a similar problem , the throttle body was not adjusted correctly. i came to find out it was the throttle body , it was slightly open.check for a vaccuum leak

Let us know when you fix the problem.
When I was getting an intermittent code 43 i was installing my turbo parts and after installing the walbro 255lph fuel pump I have not seen the code re-appear.

As a shot in the dark, I replaced my fuel filter(?) (little black cylinder up by the firewall) and cleaned my injectors. So far, nothings improved.

Weather permitting, I'll try and re-install the throttle body tommorrow. I feel like there's so many things that could be causing this, and I have no idea what's going to fix it.

Im getting a code 43 as well. Im hoping your fuel pump swap will be the same case with my car...I just changed the 02 sensor 6 months ago and the CEL is still giving me a 43.

Hopfully the fuel pump is my only problem.
